Above: The still flooded Murray River from the back of our cabin here at Euston
We left Adelaide at 7.10am after getting up at 6am to be sure to say goodbye to Lisa who left for work at 6.30. That gave us time to have breakfast and pack the car and get away at a suitable hour. Jason was up at least as early as we were but he had to wake the kids up wave us off. All very sad cause we won’t see them again in the flesh till this time next year. The trip through Adelaide was fairly uneventful. A big improvement on what it used to be.
We arrived at Berri to see that a Tesla Midel 3 was plugged in and nobody around and a Kona EV lined up to go next. Fortunately the lady in the Kona was a local and had an urgent hair dressing appointment so she decided to come back later.
Just after she left the people in the Model 3 arrived back and decided that they didn’t need to completely fill up. While we waited for them to get what they needed, we talked with them for a while ( they were from Canberra so there was some stuff to talk about other than EVs).
All in all we were there for 1 hour 55 minutes which slowed our progress down somewhat. Once we were plugged in we went to find toilets and then a Woolies to buy some stuff. Then we set the chairs and table up and had some morning tea.
On to Mildura arriving there at 2.30 NSW time. No one at the chargers there so plugged in straight away and went looking for public toilets. No luck and things got a bit desperate so Lorraine went and asked the local RSL to use their toilets and they were agreeable.
Back to the car and set up the table and chairs for lunch. Quite agreeable. Lorraine drove the 160Kms from Berri to Mildura.
Euston was only about 80Kms from Mildura so we made the Euston Cabin Resort by 4.20. A very pleasant place right on the banks of the Murray. Unfortunately it stinks a bit as a result of the flood waters still hanging around.
